backyard wonderland

when i hear the words "mommy, i don't want to go home" come out of jaxon's mouth every time i pick him up after work, i don't take offense.  what kid wouldn't love this backyard at my parents' house.

there's like 3 different ponds,

with tons of fish.

different views of the pond

he loves climbing up on the bridge, i hate it-there's no railing!  swimming lessons are in order-like yesterday!
{oh yeah, they also have a pool, which he is obsessed with}

what i love...the herb gardens.  cilantro pictured below.

here's what i picked the other day:  cilantro, basil, chives, parsley, & thyme.
they also grow tons of veggies in their expansive garden, which i love as well!

random question though...what's up with the shrooms.  they are everywhere
{and they were not planted}

  1. I am so jealous of that lush backyard, especially that herb container. Not sure about the shrooms, I wouldn't eat them. LOL

  2. The shrooms are from all of the rain, they magically appear when it rains a lot. It's really like your own private CSA (community supported agriculture).

  3. Hi Alison!
    So happy to meet you... thanks for stopping by La Dolfina. I love finding new blogs and am loving seeing your sweet boy lost in your parent's backyard paradise... does it get any better for a child? Makes my heart happy. He's adorable!!
    I'll be back soon :)

  8. I do love my backyard maybe just as much as Jaxon, It truely is a paradise and when I see both of my grandsons running around in it, than it turns into heaven. I am thinking about letting people use it for wedding pics.
