mirror, mirror on the wall

check out those drapes and the chandelier.
now lets talk mirror...
do you like the off centered, leaning effect?
correction:  after looking at this picture it appears that there is a his and hers mirror.
love it
{do you see it peaking out of the right corner}

i like it, just not over my bed.
on another topic, why am i having such a hard time finding the perfect gold guilded mirror?
oh yeah, i'm trying to find one on the cheap.
any suggestions...

  1. Something just doesn't look right to me about the off-center mirror. I do like the leaning effect though.

I always see lots of gold guilded mirrors on Craigslist?

  2. Liquid Leaf is my new best friend...find a plain mirror with a border and paint with Liquid Leaf. It goes on easy, is very opaque and I love the finished look. I have painted an old metal coffee table with it here: http://kimberlieerin.blogspot.com/2010/12/in-love.html

    Hope this helps!

  3. Am I a big baby that all I think of is that I'm afraid it would fall on me? It looks a little precarious!

Also check out flea markets. You'd be surprised what you find as you dig!

  4. I think leaning mirrors would give me heart palipitations. I'd be worried they'd kill me in my sleep. They are very pretty mirrors, though.

Do you have any hotel liquidators in your area? They often sell accessories at great prices. Or Craigslist.

  10. Oooh I love this! I would buy a cheapie one off of Craigslist and paint it gold — Ralph Lauren makes great metallic paints! Enjoy the rest of your weekend : )

  11. I totally know what you mean. Good ones can be tricky to find. Personally, I think cheap gold mirrors tend to LOOK cheap. Wait and go for quality vintage. Believe it or not, I scored the one in our bedroom in a condo I bought years ago. In these pieces waiting for the right one makes a difference.

  13. You need to do craigslist, search mirror, ornate mirror, gold mirror. You should be able to find one for a pretty good price.
