beaming

i have recently realized something about myself...if a house has beams in it, i'm all over it.  beams make me weak in the knees.  i swear-it could be the ugliest house but if it even has one single beam, my heart palpitates.  i think it may be an obsession.  yes, i have an obsession with beams.

burst wall pods

i saw these wall pods on chia'sso a few months back and liked them but they were a little blah.  then i saw this room on elements of style and spotted them in the corner by the large windows.  clustered in such a large group looks amazing!  now i really want them, really a lot.  they are $118 for a set of three, so i would at least have to get two sets, but three or four sets would be great, but expensive.  what do you think?  has anyone seen these for a cheaper price?

visiting polyvore

i just had to feature this amazing look created by marguerite via polyvore:  i want to be this woman who wears this to dinner on a thursday evening.  who is she?

my indian mother

my mother is the BEST! one of millions of things she does, she watches my son while i'm at work which is the best right there. this is just one example of what kind of mother she is:  when i came to her house to pick up my little one, she had a meal for me with a fresh paratha-basically like a cross between a croissant and a tortilla, that she just made especially for me. no, she didn't just heat it up- she mixed the flour, rolled out the dough and made it-in a 15 minute notice! so good... thanks so much for all that you do. happy mother's day!

to die for!

i made this pear and apple crisp and it is amazing. you must try out the recipe courtesty of my girl, ina garten, from barefoot contessa. this may have been the best desssert i have made-ever!
i decided to add the first photo from the food network website since my photo isn't really up to par. if you decide to take a shot at it-so easy btw- let me know how you like it.

so appropriate

i saw this the other day while going to my car. it made me think of sex and the city and reminded how much i want to see the new movie. you know the episode where the guy (berger?) carrie was dating collected cards he found in street. i can't wait to see santc2!!

the small joys in life

this is why it's ok to be a bit under the weather sometimes. my little jaxon gave these to me yesterday. {thanks to my parents' backyard and my mother picking them for him, for me}

jennifer zeuner

i have been thinking about this jennifer zeuner necklace for awhile now. this would be a perfect gift for mother's day (hinty hint hint). what a cute concept to flip the cross to the side- makes a classic, turn modern and young.

you can get it in silver or gold starting at $110
and a larger size for $176

then there's the three initial monogram starting at $242

reminds me of a de-blinged out version of alexis's,from the real housewives of o.c., necklace her husband gave her this past season that was like 6 karats of diamonds for around $20,000 or something like that-ridic.
celebs spotted wearing her pieces: jessica alba, rachel zoe, whitney from the hills/the city, miley cyrus(looks like she lives in these pieces), nicky hilton, taylor swift, vanessa hudgens and l.c. of course.
you can check out the entire collection here.

i can't wait to get mine (wink) and layer it with my magic feather pendant from hazel & harlow.

light it up

via elle decor

first of all, i need these two kitchens, especially the first image (modern + ethnic-inspired). i don't particularly love these light fixtures, but placed in 3's makes me adore them. not only are there multiple fixtures in one concentrated area, they are large fixtures which makes these spaces so special... and quite an impact in the room.

color by ridder

i'm loving these rooms by nyc designer, katie ridder. although a little more traditional than i tend to gravitate toward, i really enjoy the color combos, mixtures of textures and styles and again the color choices.
