layered look


i love the look of layering a modern piece of art
in front of an empty antique frame
 or propped against a hanging mirror
 also a favorite of mine, hung on a bookshelf
what do you think of these non-traditional ways to display art?

    I love all of them. Particularly the one with the empty frame. Very chic. Layerig always makes a space look lived in and collected over time. Great image finds! (And can we also talk about the ottoman with the horn legs!? FABULOUS!!)

    i love this look! i am so glad that the "rules" of decorating are being broken and allowing for so much individuality and creativeness! a personal room is a pretty room!

    You can pull this off in your dinning room, it kind of reminds me of your dresser with the pic. on it. I love the 1st. pic.

    Ok, I like the first two a lot, but the bookshelf one has always bothered me a bit. I wouldn't mind if it sat on a shelf in the bookshelf.. but in front of it? I much prefer the empty frame idea!! (May have to try that)
